One of the top agency's in Manitoba is currently hiring experienced northern nurses to work in federal health centres in Northern Manitoba. We offer very competitive wages with excellent assignments anywhere from 2 weeks to several months.
Qualifications
- Those interested must have experience working emerg/obs/med surg and have their BLS/ACLS/TNCC/PALS/ENPC and have the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be currently registered with the CRNM and have graduated from an accredited School of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner training or Northern Clinical Training.
- Must have at least one (1) year experience, in the past five years, working in remote, isolated and /or semi-isolated communities; or have at least two (2) years experience, over the past five years performing nursing activities and services in primary care and advanced clinical assessments. The experience maybe within the emergency, intensive care unit or within community settings such as health care centres (e.g. urgent care centre, quick care centre) and home and community care
- Must complete a pre-placement medical examination.
- Must undergo a Federal Security Screening
- Must complete both The Immunization and The Controlled Substance Competencies
Job Summary
Responsible for care in the following areas:
- Management and assessment of adult clients
- Management and assessment of pediatric clients
- Management and assessment of obstetrical, gynecological and newborn clients
- Respond to general emergencies and major trauma
- Knowledge and skills to perform and interpret laboratory tests and ECGs
- Perform, pharmacological intervention,
- Be aware of patient needs, and strong understanding of when to utilize MedTrans and Medevacs when working in isolated communities
- Have strong interdisciplinary communication skills
- Be able to provide culturally sensitive and appropriate care
- Nurse to always follow proper documentation procedures, and always follow confidentiality guidelines as outlined in PHIA and by Executive Nursing and Healthcare Services Inc.
